T8M Energia Solar, a company specializing in the installation of photovoltaic systems, opened this month an electric vehicle charger developed by SolarEdge, in Ipitanga, eastern region of Minas Gerais.
SolarEdge's single-phase inverter chargers allow homeowners to charge their vehicles using solar-generated power while also ing grid connections.
Engineer Toniangelo Vieira, director of T8M Energia Solar, explained how the equipment was installed.
“The inverter has an F – N 220Vac output and the Cemig (Companhia Energética de Minas Gerais) network is F – N 127Vac. We made the connection using F – F on the network. This way, we have the connection using two phases and ground”.
According to Vieira, the charger has an attached socket for charging the electric car. The engineer also explained that the equipment is integrated with the SolarEdge monitoring platform, which makes it possible to track the charging status, control and schedule charging.
Available in Brazil since May this year, the charger is distributed by several companies, including Genyx. “The partnership signed between Genyx and SolarEdge was reinforced at this moment, as we were handpicked to be one of the companies responsible for distributing their photovoltaic systems with vehicle chargers.”, stated Bruno Reis, commercial director at Genyx.
