Electricity matrix will expand by 7,8 GW this year

From January to September, 219 plants went into operation

On October 1st, Brazil reached 205.722,5 MW of inspected power, with 84,74% coming from renewable sources, according to data from SIGA (Generation Information System ANEEL).

This advance contributed to a growth of 7,8 GW in the Brazilian electricity matrix throughout 2024. From January to September, 219 plants came into operation, approximately 90% of which were wind and solar photovoltaic plants.

A ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency) also pointed out that the electricity sector expanded by 711,33 MW its installed generation capacity in September, with the entry into operation of 24 plants, being 11 photovoltaic (491,83 MW), 10 wind (117,20 MW) and 3 thermoelectric (102,30 MW).

The new projects are distributed across 15 states, with highlights for Bahia (1.973,60 MW), Minas Gerais (1.797,17 MW) and Rio Grande do Norte (1.746,35 MW).
