The year 2025 has already begun, bringing with it new dynamics for the Brazilian electricity sector after a 2024 marked by ups and downs, with a series of advances and challenges faced, especially by renewable sources.

In an exclusive interview to Canal Solar, leaders from the main industry associations met and shared their visions and strategies for the year, highlighting the trends and priorities that should shape the electricity sector in Brazil.

From actions that continue to expand markets to the implementation of new public policies, the visions presented by these entities are fundamental to understanding the directions that Brazil will follow on its journey towards a energy matrix modern and resilient.

In total, the report interviewed executives from nine associations in the national electricity sector, namely:

  • Rodrigo Sauaia, president of ABSOLAR (Brazilian Association of Photovoltaic Solar Energy);
  • Carlos Evangelista, president of ABGD (Brazilian Association of Distributed Generation);
  • Heber Galarce, president of RING (National Clean Energy Institute);
  • Elbia Gannoum, president of ABEEolic (Brazilian Wind Energy Association);
  • Renata Isfer, executive president of Abiogas (Brazilian Biogas Association);
  • Alessandra Torres, president of Abrapch (Brazilian Association of PCH and CGH);
  • Marcos Madureira, president of ABRADEE (Brazilian Association of Electric Energy Distributors);
  • Markus Vlasits, president of ABSAE (Brazilian Association of Energy Storage Solutions);
  • Bernardo Sicsu, vice president of strategy and communications at hug (Brazilian Association of Energy Traders).
