A Elera Renewables entered into a partnership for self-production of energy with Schulz SA The contract, which is in the process of obtaining approval from CADE (istrative Council for Economic Defense), includes the start of energy supply scheduled for 2025. 

The agreement follows the self-production model by matching in a park with an installed capacity of 48 MW, which is part of the Janaúba Solar Complex. The contract will allow Schulz SA to avoid the emission of more than 32 thousand tons of CO₂ annually. 

The publicly traded company from Santa Catarina has two business divisions: automotive, specialized in machining and assembling parts for industries; and compressors, focused on the manufacture of piston and screw compressors.

“We will achieve 100% of our electricity consumption coming from renewable sources. This initiative is part of the company’s growth, sustainability and decarbonization strategy, which brings forward to 2025 the emissions reduction targets set for 2030,” said Sandro Trentin, CEO of Schulz SA. 

About the Solar Janaúba Complex 

Located in the north of Minas Gerais, the Janaúba Solar Park is one of the largest photovoltaic projects in the Southern Hemisphere, with more than 2,9 million solar modules and an area of ​​more than 3,8 thousand hectares, comparable to 5,2 thousand football fields. 

The plant is part of the Elera Renováveis ​​portfolio and has a total installed capacity of 1,617 MWp, which is equivalent to the residential energy consumption of 1,2 million people. During the entire construction of the Complex, 15 direct and indirect jobs were created.
