A Federal police and Neoenergia Brasilia this week signed a agreement technical cooperation for the development of energy efficiency actions, which aims to exchange da artificial lighting and installation a usolar fortune in a building of the institution, located in the South Police Sector, in the Federal District.
The project, which will receive a input higher than R $ 1,6 million, is part of EPE (Energy Efficiency Program) of the distributor, regulated by ANEEL (National Electric Energy Agency), and its purpose is to promote the rational use of energy and the use of renewable sources, in addition to contributing to decarbonization and reducing the value of the corporation's electricity bills.
Under the agreement, a photovoltaic system will be built 500 kWp and the estimated annual generation is 728,39 MWh/year, What represents 9% do best before date of the police unit. In addition to the plant, Neoenergia Brasília will replace 4.262 inefficient interior light bulbs of the location by models with the LED technology, which have greater luminosity, duration and quality compared to those that existed in the building.
Changing the lighting will bring a saving of energy estimated at 98 MWh/year and the removal of demand during the peak period of 10,6 kW. Altogether, the project represents a approximate reduction de R $ 536 thousand to public coffers per year.
“The inauguration of this plant contributes not only to the issue of cost profitability for the Federal Police, but it also inaugurates the use of a clean energy source in the institution, which reinforces our commitment to decarbonization actions”, he stated Ana Mascarenhas, superintendent of Energy Efficiency at Neoenergia.
Andrei Rodrigues, general director of the Federal Police, corroborated Neoenergia's speech, celebrated the importance of the partnership and stressed that this project is the corporation's first. “We have more than 100 PF units across the country and our interest is to expand this partnership”, he added.
Sandoval Feitosa, director general of ANEEL, who was also present at the event, praised Neoenergia's initiative with projects to make public buildings more efficient and highlighted that the company is the one that invests the most in projects for hospitals.
“This PF plant together with the one in the building ANEEL will be the largest in the Federal District. The initiative to provide renewable electricity makes us very proud as a regulatory body and promoter of energy efficiency actions”, highlighted Feitosa.
Frederico Candian, CEO of Neoenergia Brasília, praised the distributor's partnership with the Federal Police and highlighted that they continue with their commitment to delivering quality energy to the entire population of the DF and to promoting energy efficiency actions, both for the public authorities and for all our customers. Since Neoenergia arrived in the federal capital, more than 230 thousand light bulbs have been donated to the low-income population.
Other projects
In 2023, Neoenergia Brasília carried out a series of efficiency projects in public and assistance buildings (public schools, health units - hospitals, medical centers and philanthropic institutions), benefiting 109 units throughout the Federal District, such as Army facilities, of the Air Force and UNB (University of Brasília), totaling more than 118 thousand light bulbs replaced and the installation of three photovoltaic solar plants, totaling 229 kWp.
The distributor also carried out efficiency projects for public service companies, including six CAESB Sanitation units and eight Metro units, with the replacement of 2.284 light bulbs with LEDs.
Balance
Between 2021 and 2023, R$43 million were invested in the execution of 30 energy efficiency projects. Among them, 220 public and/or assistance buildings with the replacement of more than 160 thousand light bulbs, delivery of vaccine chambers and installation of several photovoltaic systems, such as, for example, the headquarters of ANEEL, UNB units, Fiocruz, among others.
