A GDSUN announced the acquisition of two solar plants, located in Minas Gerais. Together, the plants have total capacity to 10,2 MWp and energy generation estimated at 24 GWh per year.
With the operation, the company expands its operations in the state of Minas Gerais and reaches the mark of 123 MWp of operational plants in the state of Minas Gerais. Brazil, in addition to another 122 MWp already being implemented.
For Arthur Sousa, CEO of GDSUN, solar energy is gaining more and more space in the country, and the distributed generation segment is a major driver of this movement.
“With these acquisitions, we added 14 systems in Minas Gerais alone and expanded our leadership in energy generation for remote self-consumption in Brazil”, stated the executive.
500 MWp by 2025
According to Gustavo Bacellar, CFO of GDSUN, at this time, acquisitions of new plants will be evaluated on a timely basis for the company's expansion.
“The investment plan foresees reaching 500 MWp of installed capacity by 2025, preferably through the implementation of greenfield projects. Strategic acquisitions like this, however, remain on our radar,” he emphasized.
Now, the company operates 47 active plants and is present in 12 states, including systems in operation and construction (Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Sergipe, Pernambuco, Bahia, Minas Gerais, Goiás, Espírito Santo, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul).
