A GDSUN announced the inauguration of the Narcélio Silveira Photovoltaic Plant (UFV), which will take place next Monday (20) in the municipality of Horizonte (CE), with an investment of around R$ 14 million.

With an installed capacity of 2,75 MWp and annual generation of 5.554,2 MWh, the plant will have enough capacity to supply approximately 35 homes. The project will meet Evolua Energia's demand.

The unit pays tribute to the civil engineer from Ceará, Narcélio Silveira, who ed away in May last year, aged 71. With the completion of the plant, GDSUN's portfolio reaches 72 solar plants in operation, distributed across 12 states in Brazil.

“With this milestone, we reaffirm the positive socio-environmental impact of our projects, consolidating our contribution to a cleaner and more accessible energy matrix,” said Simone Suarez, CEO of GDSUN.

Expansion in the Northeast

In addition to UFV Narcélio Silveira, GD Sun maintains other assets in Ceará, including UFV Campestre I and II and UFV Caracará, currently under construction and scheduled for energization soon. Total investments in plants in the state total R$45 million.

GD Sun's expansion plan in the Northeast region foresees a total investment of R$67 million, destined for the implementation of solar projects in Pernambuco (UFV Aliança) and Bahia (UFVs Barra do Arará and Luiz Eduardo Magalhães II), with operations expected to start by April 2025.

Since 2020, GD Sun has been active in all phases of development, construction, operation and maintenance of solar power plants, operating in the captive market in accordance with distributed generation standards and participating in the credit compensation system.
