The business consultant Gustavo Tegon took office, this Friday (14), at the INEL Solar Energy Secretariat (National Institute of Clean Energy), replacing Ricardo Costa who served as secretary since the creation of the institute in 2020. Tássio Barboza continues as deputy secretary of Solar Energy. The g of the instrument of investiture took place today.

The new INEL secretary acquired vast experience in DG (distributed generation) during his professional career by leading large projects in Brazil for manufacturers such as BYD, Jinko and Canadian Solar.

Graduated in International Business and with an MBA in Management and Business from the Methodist University of Piracicaba, Tegon takes on the role with the challenge of lead important agendas for the development of the solar energy sector in the country.

According to him, the priority themes for the activities of the INEL Solar Energy Secretariat for the second semester are the discussion of transition to withdrawal of ex-tariffs, the mandatory application for the use of photovoltaic plants in new works by the Federal Government, the maintenance of incentives for solar energy, sharing government best practices on agenda for industrialization in Brazil and the discussion of standardization of GD in the Minha Casa Minha Vida Program, in addition to debates on the Tax Reform.

“As we can see, the secretariat will have a robust agenda for action in the National Congress. I take on this challenge at INEL with the confidence that we will achieve great results in favor of the development of the sector and the consequent increase of the economy and the Brazilian electricity sector as a whole”, guarantees Tegon.

Heber Galarce, president of INEL, considers Tegon's arrival at the institute as an important reinforcement to the group of secretaries who work in the most varied areas of the renewable energy sector. “With Tegon’s leadership, his expertise and distinguished trajectory in large multinationals and the largest companies in the sector in Brazil, INEL’s Solar Energy Secretariat will further strengthen its operations in Brasília with a great contribution to the sector”, he states .
