Hybrid plants expand the energy potential of rural producers

The plants will be able to generate 100% of all the energy that rural producers consume on their farms

Combining solar energy and biogas, extracting the maximum generation potential from both sources: organic compounds and the sun. This is the objective of a company from Paraná, which is developing hybrid plants that can raise the level of energy production for rural producers.

During the day, photovoltaic s generate electricity to operate the plant. Organic waste is transformed into biogas, which is stored in cylinders or large reservoirs to be used when there is no solar irradiation.

“The plants will be able to generate 100% of all the energy that rural producers consume on their farms, agro-industries and farms in a constant and distributed manner, throughout the entire period of operation, without interruption”, explains Alexandre Brandão, CEO of the Alexandria Group.

This energy combination will enhance already known advantages, such as optimizing the use of the transmission network, reducing daily and monthly variability of wind and solar sources, as well as synergistic gains in construction, operation and maintenance.

“In one of the countries that receives the highest solar irradiation on the planet and which has large rural properties with high production of organic waste, the introduction of hybrid plants is a natural alternative”, concluded Brandão.
