Constant power outages caused by extreme weather events have become a daily challenge for a resident of a region impacted by the instability of the electrical grid.
Concerned about the frequency of blackouts and their effects on his daily routine, he was looking for an alternative that would guarantee the operation of essential loads, such as lighting, refrigerator, freezer, gas heat pump and Wi-Fi connection. It was then that he decided to install a hybrid system, which combines solar generation with storage in Batteries of lithium.
During the development of the project, however, the initial proposal evolved. Based on a detailed mapping of the residence's needs, a more complete solution was arrived at: keeping the entire house operating during power outages, with the freedom for the resident to decide, in real time, which equipment to use.
Through an application, the end customer can monitor the performance of the photovoltaic system and battery consumption, ensuring a balance between comfort and efficiency.
In total, the plant has 6,10 kWp of power, consisting of 11 555 Wp modules. Canadian Solar, an 8 kW hybrid inverter from Deye and two 5,1 kWh batteries each from UCB, with all equipment supplied by BelEnergy.
“My house had a photovoltaic system installed a few years ago. Due to the legislation at the time, it was not a hybrid system, meaning it did not have batteries. I recently ed Atria Energy and we modified the installation, including batteries,” reported the end customer.
“This change made all the difference. We experienced some blackouts here in my city, in which several regions, including mine, were without power for two days, which, in our case, prevented the loss of food stored in refrigerators. In addition, we avoided changes to our routines, ensuring that lighting and appliances worked,” he stressed.
According to him, the system works so well that his family did not notice the power outage. “Not to mention the savings achieved by injecting energy into the grid during the day. I strongly recommend adopting this type of project,” concluded the resident.
Real situations prove the effectiveness of the hybrid system
Two incidents experienced by the resident illustrate the effectiveness of the project. In the first, while working from home, he did not realize that the power supply had been cut off during the day.
Solar power kept the batteries charged, and it was only at dusk, when he noticed that the neighborhood was in darkness, that he realized that he had spent hours operating autonomously.
In the second case, during a weekend with friends at home, a storm caused a tree to fall onto the power grid, leaving the neighborhood without power. Inside the residence, however, the party continued as normal, with the power supply guaranteed by the hybrid system.
Expansion of the hybrid system in Brazil
Cases like this reflect a growing movement in the country. With reduced costs and advances in technology, hybrid systems are a viable and strategic option for consumers seeking energy security.
“We knew that this solution would arrive in Brazil with a bang. That’s why, in 2022, we created an area within the company to focus solely on the development of hybrid solutions and the integration of different energy sources,” said Guilherme Banzato, partner and commercial director at Atria Eenergy, the company responsible for the project.
Atria has been working with hybrid solutions since 2016, when it implemented its first hybrid inverter system in Brazil. Since then, the scenario has evolved rapidly, making the equipment more accessible and attractive to the end consumer.
“Today, hybrid systems are a reality in Brazil, with prices that already enable a reasonable payback for the customer. Replacing diesel generators and protection against extreme weather events have been the main triggers for the search for this alternative,” reported Banzato.
In addition to providing autonomy, hybrid solutions allow remote management of operations, guaranteeing the customer flexibility in consumption and peace of mind when dealing with fluctuations in the supply of the electricity grid.

The hybrid system is very functional and promising. With this in mind, we found a very practical PLUG & PLAY solution. We put everything inside a RACK (hybrid inverter and lithium battery).
You configure the sizing based on the critical load you want to handle and the amount of time the system needs to leave you with power.
Very practical and easy to use
God bless the engineers
The solution I achieved was more compact, as I placed everything inside a RACK (hybrid inverter and lithium battery) and in addition to the ease of connection, everything is Plug & Play. Regarding autonomy, it depends on each customer's needs, the system is sized on a case-by-case basis, as each customer has a specific need.
But the system is very versatile, works very well and migrates in the event of a power outage from ON GRID to the batteries in milliseconds, imperceptible to the eyes and without even oscillating the power, without turning off or interrupting devices such as computers, routers and internet networks. Very cool.

Good morning, I wanted to know about the
budget
I bought a Weg model and I can't put any batteries in it. If I had known, I wouldn't have invested.
my home consumption the last bill was 352 kwh and 302 kwh
What is the value of a hybrid system and one without a battery? I live in Santa Bárbara d'Oeste
Very nice, but the report does not mention in both cases what the autonomy of the backup energy is.
How wonderful, this system will be able to guarantee the comfort of many mansions and castles spread throughout the world.
I have a 3 kVA on-grid growvat inverter with six 500 W s. This on-grid inverter injects power into the grid so I can save money.
then I have the hybrid growatt inverter.
four 550 W s and a Unicoba lithium battery. I have practically everything connected off grid. two freezers and a refrigerator. television and ceiling fans. all the lighting in the house.
In the event of a power outage from the operator, if there are sunny days, everything works. The sun holds the charges and charges the battery simultaneously.
Air conditioning and electric showers are very difficult to operate off grid. It has happened that I only found out that there was a power outage the next day.
very happy and relaxed with my investment.
everything bought on MercadoLivre and my solar house.
budget.
absurd price of batteries and few years of useful life. still does not meet.
Good evening, I would like a quote for 900 kW per month.
I would like a quote if possible.
Good afternoon!
For those interested, I do On Grid and Off Grid projects, including with hybrid inverters.
I'm an electrical engineer, but I'm also installing here in Rio de Janeiro.

I already have solar energy with 4 550 s each, is it possible to change to hybrid with the s I have?

I already have the ombord system, how can I make the system hybrid?
Excellent solution. Little known and used, among other reasons because it is much more expensive than the traditional ONGRID system, mainly due to the batteries, which, depending on the electrical storage capacity and the autonomy and power desired by the customer, significantly increase the total cost of the system. One way to mitigate this and depend on fewer batteries would be to also have associated wind generators, especially if the location has a good incidence of more or less constant winds, since the wind system generates energy day and night.
I would like a quote
I LIVE HERE IN BELÉM PARÁ NEIGHBORHOOD ICOARACI CAPITAL, I INTEND TO BE A CANDIDATE FOR SALES OF THESE PROJECTS WHICH ARE EXCELLENT, IF POSSIBLE I WOULD LIKE TO QUALIFY MYSELF EVEN MORE.
I THANK.
Beautiful solution, it will meet the needs of many.
Excellent article, I installed the on-grade system, I want to change to the hybrid. If possible, I would like to someone who provides this service.
Thank you in advance!
