As hydroelectric plants operating in the country produced an average of 39.878 MW in August, representing a 10% drop compared to the same period in 2023. This result is yet another reflection of the lack of rain in the country.

On the other hand, wind, solar photovoltaic and thermoelectric sources showed significant growth. wind generation reached 16.133 average MW, with high of 29,1%, solar photovoltaic reached 4.420 MW medium, one increase of 32,7%, and the thermoelectric plant ed an average of 11.933 MW, growing 23,3%.

Regarding energy consumption in the SIN (National Interconnected System), CCEE recorded an average of 67.584 MW in August, representing a growth of 2,1% compared to the same month in 2023. In the regulated market, consumption increased by 0,8%, while in the free market growth was 4%.

The increase in consumption is attributed to the good performance of the mineral extraction, metallurgy and manufactured goods industries, in addition to the impact of higher temperatures.
