A Brazilian photovoltaic recycler SunR and international recycling association PV CYCLE signed the partnership to serve Latin America in issuing certificates to provide information and services throughout environmentally correct disposal process for solar sand other photovoltaic components.

According to the companies, today, Brazil faces significant increase in demand for module recycling due to early disposal of damaged s.

Em 2024 a SunR has already collected the equivalent of the total volume received in the last four years. THE The company plans to reach the 4.500-ton mark by the end of the year.

A certification will begin to be issued in September and is intended for manufacturers, plant owners, distributors, among other agents in the sector who want to guarantee the necessary knowledge for the correct disposal of discarded modules.

O document is a competitive differentiator for companies to close deals, as it demonstrates that they are guided by sustainability goals, this action helps to give more visibility to the brand.

This is evident, especially in a country like Brazil, which does not have specific legislation for the reverse logistics of photovoltaic modules.

“A company that adheres to the certificate receives all guidance and coverage from SunR for the environmentally correct disposal of material at all stages of reverse logistics”, says Marinna Pivatto, business development manager at SunR.

"The certificate ensures that the client has the information about the current standard for module disposal in Brazil and any changes that may be made to this legislation”, he adds.

In addition to the certification partnership, the PV CYCLE invested in the company to improve machinery technology and process optimization in two units: Valinhos (SP) and Montes Claros (MG).

After the financial contribution, the partnership studies a new unit of the company, which will be installed in the Northeast region. The action aims to reduce logistics and disposal costs for customers based in that region.

“With the partnership, SunR gains many operational advances. The certificate will be attested by both brands, so for the PV CYCLE will be the entry into the Brazilian market, a way for national customers to learn more about the entity”, concludes Marinna.

“A partnership with PV CYCLE represents a crucial step for SunR and for the entire photovoltaic sector in Brazil”, says Leonardo Duarte, CEO and founder of SunR.

"In addition to strengthening our operations, we will be able to offer our customers an internationally recognized certification, which will add value to your operations and guide you with the best environmental practices”, adds the CEO.

The first certificate will be issued during Intersolar

Marinana says the first certificate issued will be destined to the company LONGi Solar, Brazil unit. The Chinese company already has the global PV CYCLE certificate in countries such as China and the United States.
