A Praise announced that it has provided a ESS (Energy Storage System) de liquid cooling integrated for a energy storage project of 100 MW in China.

The Ningxia Project, located in Lingwu City, Ningxia Province, began construction in September 2022 and was connected to the grid on December 31.

The plant is equipped with 63 containers (capacity of 3,44 MWh each), 31 sets of energy storage converters (capacity: 3,2 MW each), a storage converter (capacity: 1,6 MW), a system control cubicle and an energy management system.

“Once the project is operational, it will serve as a giant 'energy bank' and effectively improve the power grid's regulatory flexibility and ability to accommodate new energy in Ningdong,” Kehua said.

According to the manufacturer, as an auxiliary peak and frequency regulation hub, the annual capacity can reach more than 80 million kWh, which is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 100.000 homes.

“Through centralized integration and battery container system design, Kehua has enabled the system to operate at higher energy density with smaller land area, more flexible installation, more convenient O&M, more cost-effective output, and effective LCOE reduction ”, they highlighted.

“We had a tight schedule on the project and the workload was heavy. We faced the Covid-19 lockdown during construction, but our energy storage system was prefabricated, which saved us a lot of work for installation and commissioning on site, so we were able to deliver the project on time,” said the project manager. project.

More details about Kehua's solution

The manufacturer stated that the 1500V centralized energy storage converter integration system and 3,44MWh liquid cooling battery container (IP67) are resistant to extreme weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, high temperature , high altitude and sand, ensuring a safe and reliable environment and advanced power station.

According to Kehua, based on technological innovations, such as intelligent temperature control, cluster-level management, insulation monitoring and multi-measurement system, data sharing was made available in each operational process. As a result, the plant is more stable and efficient, with an extended life cycle, greater efficiency and reduced losses.

“The Kehua S3 liquid-cooled energy storage system is highly favored by the market and widely deployed for its high degree of safety, reliability, as well as its great cost reduction and greater efficiency,” highlighted the company.

“As a customer-focused company, Kehua will continue to introduce quality energy storage products and solutions through technological innovation and strive to provide a meaningful tool for commercializing energy storage and reducing its LCOE,” they concluded.
