Ordinance No. 140

Kstar also mentioned that it strictly complies with Ordinance No. 140, in March 2022, of INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology), which established the new criteria for conformity assessment requirements applicable to equipment intended for production , conditioning and energy storage in photovoltaic systems.

Does every inverter have an AFCI system?

AFCI is a safety system that can be built into the inverter. Its function is to monitor the occurrence of series-type electrical arcs, which are arcs caused by poor s in direct current installations (that is, in the module circuits).

These bad s can be present in the connection of the string cables at the inverter input, at any point in the stringbox or even in the connectors on the s on the roof.
Although it is an important feature, not all manufacturers have this functionality. AFCI is not a mandatory feature in Brazil and few pieces of equipment available on the market have this function.
