O MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) approved the budget proposal for Spanish Sporthorse (Energy Development ) for 2025 allocated to the Luz Para Todos program, with a significant increase in relation to the amount approved in the previous year.

This year, the CDE is expected to disburse around R$3,9 billion for the program, which has a total budget of R$4,3 billion, compared to R$2,5 billion in 2024.

The resources will be allocated to 16 states in the North, Northeast, Central-West and Southeast regions. The state with the largest volume of expected resources is Pará — which will host COP 30 in November — with R$1,64 billion.

Next in line are Bahia, with R$798,2 million, and Maranhão, with R$330,5 million. According to the MME, if there is budget availability, the financial releases planned for 2025 may be brought forward, with the aim of accelerating the implementation of the program.

Light for All

Created in 2003 and relaunched in 2023 after a period of discontinuation, the Luz Para Todos program's main objective is to universalize access to electricity in Brazil, bringing electricity to families living in remote or hard-to-reach areas. The main technology currently used is the installation of photovoltaic systems.

What is the CDE?

The CDE is a sectoral fund that brings together most of the incentives included in the electricity tariff. The resources are directed to actions such as the social energy tariff, incentives for renewable sources and universalization programs, such as Luz Para Todos. For 2025, the total budget forecast for the CDE is R$40,6 billion.

An answer

  1. Dear sirs,
This is a program that should never be discontinued, but, as is customary here in Brazil, when a government with a different political and ideological bias changes, the same thing happens with programs implemented by another group. It is the famous phrase: I will not put olives in the pie of anyone who thinks differently from me. With this attitude, the country suffers and, by extension, the people in the final analysis. It is important to emphasize that it is not enough to disseminate, for example, solar generation where no electricity arrives, because it is necessary to give s a minimum of knowledge on how to efficiently and safely use this precious asset that is having access to electricity. Handling batteries has its personal and environmental risks. For disposal, a reverse logistics program must be implemented.
