LONGi ends production of 158 mm cells

The manufacturer estimates that 182 mm cells will make up more than 50% of shipments in 2021

The manufacturer of photovoltaic s LONGi announced that it has ended production of 158mm solar cells.

According to Dennis She, senior vice president of LONGi, the company will only supply 166mm and 182mm size modules to the international PV market.

The manufacturer's estimate is that 182 mm cells will represent more than 50% of module shipments in the existing domestic and foreign markets in 2021, reaching 70% next year.

In an interview with energy solutions company Energy1, Dennis She, senior vice president of LONGi, stated that the company has grown positively in overseas markets in Europe, North America and Asia and recovered its installed capacity impacted by Covid-19

In the latest semi-annual financial report published by the manufacturer at the end of August, the company recorded 17,01 GW of monocrystalline shipments in the first half of 2021 alone.
