Deputy Lafayette de Andrada (Republicans/MG) meets this Tuesday morning (4), starting at 10 am, with leaders of the Chamber of Deputies and the president of the House, Arthur Lira, to discuss the substitute text of PL 5829/19 (Bill No. 5829/19), which aims to create the Legal Framework for GD (distributed generation) in Brazil.
The expectation is that if the document becomes a consensus among the leaders, it will be put to a vote this week. Behind the scenes, what we have is that the text only needs to be put on the agenda to be approved, with a large majority of votes from the parliamentarians.

Changes planned in the replacement text
In an interview with Canal Solar, Lafayette highlighted that there are three points of the current text that still do not have consensus among deputies who are against his proposal. In recent months, the substitute text presented by the deputy has motivated several debates on the subject, with the holding of webinars and surveys. The parliamentarian defends the approval of the document, highlighting that it will help to “democratize the use of solar energy in the country”.

According to Lafayette, approval is necessary given that the country does not yet have specific legislation for the sector. In the parliamentarian's opinion, the text is balanced and also pays distributors.
The replacement text has been positively evaluated by associations and professionals in the solar energy sector, who expect the measure to resolve the ime due to the lack of legislation for the distributed generation segment. The large economic groups, mostly formed by energy distributors, are against the project.
