The MME (Ministry of Mines and Energy) announced the opening of the deadline for sending forecasts of declarations of need to purchase electricity, referring to the new energy auctions A-4 and A-6. The auctions will be held in August 2025 in accordance with Normative Ordinance No. 57, of December 21, 2022.
Participants must submit information about their forecasts via the CCEE (Electric Energy Trading Chamber) website by September 16.
According to the MME, the objective is to receive forecasts from distribution agents to prepare guidelines for new energy auctions A-4 and A-6, in 2025, with supply starting on: January 1, 2029, for auction A-4, and January 1, 2031, for A-6.
The MME states that the objective is to know how much energy the distributors will need to help plan the new energy auctions A-4 and A-6.
According to the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, the objective is to guarantee the country's energy supply and promote the development of the electricity sector and invest in a green future.
“Holding these auctions is essential to guarantee the country’s energy security, attracting investment and boosting economic growth.”
“Interested parties must keep the information confidential and not disclose it until the end of the bidding process. Only s with the “Auction Participant” permission will be able to access the interface to send the declaration forecasts on the CCEE platform,” stated the MME.
