O price two photovoltaic modules Mono PERC, both 182 mm and 210 mm, marketed by China in the international market suffered a 10% reduction in the last week, according to data from the new weekly bulletin of InfoLink Consulting.

According to the new survey, which measures fluctuations in the values of the main inputs in the photovoltaic production chain, the average price of the technology dropped from $0,10/W to $0,09/W in the period.

Since the beginning of the year, price of the product already s a reduction of almost 30%. On the first of January, the average cost of sale of equipment was US$0,125/W, according to InfoLink.

In the case of other photovoltaic modules, such as TOPCon and HJT bifacials, the values remained without fluctuations in the last week. In the year, the reductions are 19,3% and 25%, respectively.

Since January, the TOPCon bifacial solar module cost dropped from $0,125/W to US$0,10/W. Those that encom the HJT technology reduced from US$0,16/W to US$0,12/W.

Why has the price of Mono PERC dropped so much?

According to a Rodrigo Furlan, director of Serrana Solar, a Brazilian distributor of photovoltaic kits, what would be happening today is that the Solar manufacturers are no longer able to sell Mono PERC technology.

“Here in Serrana, for example, It's been more than three months since this technology was purchased, because it has become outdated. The technology N-Type is already way ahead in of production scale,” he commented.

The executive also explains that the The last productions of mono PERC in factories abroad were in the second quarter. Since then, there would no longer be any manufacturing.

“What can still be found on the market is the result of remaining parts or assemblers who bought from Chinese distributors, but there is no longer direct production by manufacturers,” Furlan highlighted.
