Monthly average of subscriptions to the free market is the highest since 2016

The Services branch was the one that recorded the highest percentage of adhesions

Throughout this year, the free energy market recorded the highest monthly average of consumer subscriptions since 2016. According to data from the CCEE (Electric Energy Trading Chamber), in the first six months of 2020, approximately 140 agents migrated monthly to the ALC ( Free Contracting Environment). Last year, this average was 118.

With this movement, the free market ended the first half of 2020 with 7.812 qualified consumers, an increase of 22,9% compared to the same period last year.

Also according to the CCEE, in June alone, 1.049 migration processes were ed, the majority of which were for special consumers, with 796 new requests being analyzed. The number represents an increase of 41% compared to the same period in 2019.

CCEE attributes the movement in the free market to the 25% increase in the number of special consumers. Furthermore, the volume of free consumers also grew, approximately 9%.

In June alone, 161 new agents ed the organization, 129 of which were special consumers and 11 free, in addition to four new traders and 17 plants classified as independent energy producers.

Of the total number of consumers who ed the free market in June, 102 have a load of up to 1 MW. Another 22 have a load between 1 MW and 1,99 MW and 11 accessions have a load greater than 2 MW. The Services branch was the one that recorded the highest percentage of adhesions.

At the end of the month, there were 23 retail traders qualified to operate. Another 21 requests are under analysis. CCEE agents are consumers, generators, distributors, self-producers and traders.
