Armor Energia, a trading company and business hub, announced the start of operations of the Guapó Photovoltaic Plant, located in Goiás. The project aims to contribute to the energy transition of commercial and industrial facilities throughout the state. The energy generated at the plant can be shared by consumers served by Equatorial Energia Goiás.

“The expectation is that UFV Guapó will generate around 2.191 MWh per year, enough to supply approximately 900 homes,” said Fred Menezes, executive director of Armor Energia.

With 0,9 MW of power in alternating current (AC) and 1,34 MWp in direct current (DC), the solar park has 2.046 photovoltaic modules installed in a fixed structure, ensuring high efficiency in capturing solar energy.

The implementation and management of UFV Guapó relied on the expertise of Essencial Engenharia, a strategic partner of Armor Energia in the project. Essencial Engenharia is also a partner in the plant, actively participating from the development to the operation of the park.

More project details

The project is located in Guapó (GO), a municipality strategically located on the BR-060 highway, which connects Goiânia to important economic hubs, such as Brasília and several regions in the Central-West. This position favors logistics, the flow of agricultural production and the attraction of new investments to the region.

Guapó has established itself as a hub for renewable energy projects, especially solar photovoltaic plants, contributing to the diversification of the energy matrix of Goiás. With high levels of solar radiation throughout the year, the municipality offers ideal conditions for the generation of solar energy, ensuring high efficiency in the capture and conversion of sunlight into electricity.

“Our goal with UFV Guapó is not only to reinforce the renewable energy matrix, but also to boost the local economy, generating jobs and new development opportunities for the region,” highlighted Menezes.

UFV Guapó is Armor Energia's second photovoltaic park. In October 2024, the company entered into a partnership with Lemon to allocate the energy generated by UFV Artur Nogueira, in the interior of São Paulo. This park has 2 MWac or 2,77 MWp of installed capacity, providing enough electricity to serve approximately 400 small and medium-sized companies.
