The number of bakeries that adopted subscription solar energy in the city of Santos (SP) grew by around 60% in the first quarter of this year. In addition to the relief in operating costs, the photovoltaic energy subscription service can be purchased in the same way as Internet and cable TV.
The process is carried out by photovoltaic plants Sun Mobi, located in the cities of Porto Feliz (SP) and Araçoiaba da Serra (SP) and which are connected to the FL Piratininga distribution system. According to the company, the growth in the use of solar by bakeries in Baixada Santista reflects the more efficient and sustainable return with the end of pandemic restrictions.

According to Alexandre Bueno, partner at Sun Mobi, the bakery sector suffered major impacts due to pandemic restrictions over the last two years.
“Many closed their doors and those who managed to survive had to reinvent themselves with delivery, reduced working hours and adjustments in operating costs, among others,” he said.

For Bueno, the segment reemerges more mature, with new learning and new management models that prioritize the efficiency and sustainability of the business.
Sun Mobi's bet is to further democratize access to photovoltaic technology for consumers in 27 municipalities in the state of São Paulo, including Itu, Sorocaba, Jundiaí and Baixada Santista itself (see list below).
In the company's view, the big difference is the absence of the need for investment in an energy generation system on a roof or on a small plot of land, in addition to the low cost of the service and reduction in expenses with electricity bill fees.
“It is an option for consumers who are in rented properties, apartments or who are unable to make investments in a photovoltaic system”, he concluded.
