O ONS (National Electric System Operator) predicts that reservoirs Taj hydroelectric plants de all subsystems Brazilians must present significant reductions in your capabilities at the end of August.

In the subsystem Southeast/Midwest, which concentrates 70% of the energy stored in the without (National Interconnected System), the level of the reservoirs must reach 55,2% on August 31, a drop of 8 percentage points compared to what was recorded this Sunday (28).

In the region Sul, is in storage capacity must be of almost 10 percentage points (from 90,2% to 80,9%); while in Northeast a predicted reduction is almost 7 percentage points (from 63,88% to 56,8%).

The region North is the one that should show the smallest reduction among all subsystems, remaining reasonably stable over the period. A estimated drop is just over 1% (from 85.46% to 84%), as shown in the image below.

“The ONS operational policy for next month foresees that the Southeast/Central-West maintain generation sized to maintain control of the level of the reservoirs, saving water resources in the region that concentrates 70% of the SIN's reservoirs”, highlights the Operator .

For the Northeast, the Operator's perspective is generation sized to maximize energy export levels. “This means making the most of wind generation, which tends to grow in the period between July and September”, points out the entity.

In relation to the South region, the entity points out that the favorable inflow conditions allow production in the submarket to be expanded at all load levels.

Finally, for the North subsystem, the ONS priority is the monitoring of inflows and flows in its main basins. Follow daily update of reservoir level Brazilians, clicking here

Below average rainfall

The bulletin released by the ONS estimates that chuvas that will arrive at the hydroelectric plants in August should be below the historical average in all regions of the country: 59% of the average in the Southeast/Central-West; 92% to the South; 42% in the Northeast and 50% in the North.

On the other hand, the energy load in the SIN was projected at 75.432 average MW, which corresponds to a growth of 3,2% compared to the same period last year.
