The ONS (National Electric System Operator) predicts stability in inflows and energy storage levels for this last week of December. According to the PMO (Monthly Operation Program), the ENA (Inflowing Natural Energy), which measures the volume of water that reaches hydroelectric reservoirs, should exceed 50% of the MLT (Long Term Average) in all subsystems.
The highlights are the subsystems in the South (202% of MLT) and Southeast/Central-West (103% of MLT) regions. The EAR (Stored Energy) levels, forecast for December 31, indicate positive scenarios, with three of the four subsystems above 50%.
The highest rate is expected to be recorded in the South (79,7%), followed by the North (54,9%) and Southeast/Central-West (50,4%), while the Northeast will be below this level, with 44,9%. Regarding demand, the SIN (National Interconnected System) is expected to show growth of 0,8% compared to December 2023.
The largest increases are expected in the North (9,0%) and Northeast (3,5%), while the South (-2,4%) and Southeast/Central-West (-0,3%) should a slight decline. Finally, the CMO (Marginal Operating Cost), which represents the production cost of the next unit of energy, is unified in all regions of the country, with the value set at R$2,69.
