Petrobras approves construction of solar plants in three refineries

A Petrobras will direct through your decarbonization fund resources for implementation of three solar plants nose refineries de Gabriel os (Regap), in Minas Gerais; in Abreu and Lima (Rnest), in Pernambuco; it's from Paulinia (Replan), in São Paulo. 

As new plants the portfolio of 33 financed projects through the bottom and which currently has the capacity to reduce carbon emissions at 1,52 million tons per year.

“The installation of photovoltaic plants integrated into the refinery generation system allows for improved integration and operational reliability, reducing gas consumption and, consequently, greenhouse gas emissions,” said the professional. 

O decarbonization fund of Petrobras was created to actions in favor of the energy transition of the company's operations in the exploration and production, refining, gas and energy and logistics segments. 

Currently, the fund has budget availability of US$ 1 billion in the five-year period 2024-2028. All approved investments are part of the company's strategic plan to neutralize operational toxic gas emissions by 2050. 

“Petrobras is a large consumer of energy, which is an important lever for our ambition to advance, in the coming years, in renewable generation projects of great materiality, seeking to combine profitable projects with the progressive decarbonization of our activities and our products”, highlighted Maurício Tolmasquim, director of energy transition and sustainability at the oil company.
