An investment of R$81 million in solar energy generation is planned for an agreement between Itaipu Binational and Femipa (Federation of Santas Casas and Philanthropic Hospitals of Paraná).
To supply 80 hospitals, the Femipa Energia program will include the implementation of 18 MW of photovoltaic generation systems by February 2027.
The program will benefit non-profit hospitals and Santas Casas that are part of tariff groups A and B, with an estimated savings of R$11,7 million per year, which corresponds to 35% of the energy consumed.

There will be four photovoltaic plants, three in the distribution area of copel (Paraná Energy Company) and one of Energisa, in Guarapuava (PR), in addition to 29 small plants in each of the hospitals.
The project will be divided into two stages: Lot 01 – installation of photovoltaic plants in hospital units, with works scheduled to begin in April 2025; and Lot 02 – implementation of photovoltaic plants on the ground in four municipalities, with works scheduled to begin in June 2025.
