The Post Office published a notice aimed at hiring a retailer to operate in the ACL (Free Contracting Environment), known as the Free Energy Market.

The company's objective is to strategically manage the electrical energy consumed by its units, including the development of technical feasibility studies, migration to the ACL, representation with the CCEE (Electricity Trading Chamber), energy marketing and management, in addition to the provision of renewable energy certificates, known as i-Recs.

The initiative initially includes 68 consumer units, totaling an average volume of 76.876 MW over a five-year period. According to Correios, the expectation is not only to optimize costs, but also to reinforce the state-owned company's commitment to sustainability, ensuring that the energy used comes from renewable sources.

The notice specifies that the contracted marketing company will be responsible for a complete analysis of technical feasibility, evaluating the conditions for the Correios units to migrate to the free market.

Furthermore, the company must guarantee the supply of certified energy through i-Recs, attesting to its renewable origin, in addition to continuously supervising the management and commercialization of electricity.
