The price of the main inputs in the solar production chain on the international market ed significant fluctuations in the first week of the year, according to data from the new bulletin from InfoLink Consulting.

The weekly report released by the company pointed to reductions in the production costs of photovoltaic modules and an increase in the price of solar cells, comparing the last week of 2024 with the first of 2025.

Mono PERC photovoltaic modules showed a reduction of 5,9% in the period, with the average production cost falling from US$ 0,085/W to US$ 0,080/W.

A similar trend was observed in solar s manufactured with TOPCon and HJT (heterojunction) technologies, which recorded drops of 5,3% and 4,2%, respectively, in the same period, as shown in the image below:

In the case of photovoltaic cells, the production cost increased by 2,6% in the first week of the year, both for Mono PERC and P-Type TOPCon cells. In both cases, the average price rose from US$ 0,038/W to US$ 0,039/W.

This increase occurs after the input s a significant drop of more than 40% throughout 2024. For comparison purposes, in the same period last year, the average production cost in the international market was US$ 0,052/W for Mono PERC and US$ 0,062/W for TOPCon, as also illustrated in the image below:
