Photovoltaic cells with N-Type TOPCon technology have undergone a new price reduction in the Chinese market in the last week, according to data from the latest bulletin from InfoLink Consulting.

TOPCon N-Type technology photovoltaic cells have seen a new price reduction in the Chinese market in the past week, according to the latest InfoLink Consulting Newsletter.

The study, which monitors the global costs of the main inputs in the photovoltaic production chain on a weekly basis, showed that the technology fell by 2,7% in the second week of December.

Year-to-date, the reduction is significant: the average traded price fell from US$ 0,062/W in January to the current US$ 0,038/W, marking an accumulated drop of almost 40% in the period.

P-Type photovoltaic cells with PERC technology follow a similar trend: although they have not shown any variation in the last week, they follow a downward trajectory throughout the year.

The average price, which was $0,052/W at the beginning of 2024, is now at $0,038/W, representing a decrease of approximately 27%.

Other inputs

According to the bulletin published by InfoLink Consulting, with the exception of N-Type TOPCon photovoltaic cells, all other inputs in the solar energy production chain (such as polysilicon, wafers and photovoltaic modules), this time, did not significant reductions over the last week.

In the year to date, all of them also showed significant drops in their traded values, with highlight for the wafers and for photovoltaic modules – which had new drops in November and should close the year with significant price reductions.
