A JA Solar invested US$978 million in the new Qujing factory, in the Chinese province, for the development and manufacture of crystalline silicon photovoltaic wafers, cells and modules.
The company's new operational base promises to be one of the most efficient with the aim of becoming one of the largest production industries in the short term, contributing to increasing internal production capacity by 50% from 40 GW/year to 60 GW/year by the end of 2025.
According to the company, the new production line will also supply Brazil with large-scale products. The manufacturer also emphasized that its production capacity makes it one of the largest operators in the world.
The company is currently focusing on marketing products to equipment distributors and large project developers, while also taking into services to integrators. Two years ago, JA Solar's annual silicon wafer capacity was 20GW and its annual solar module production capacity was 25GW.
