A Cagece (Ceará Water and Sewage Company) migrated part of its consumer units to the Free Energy Market.
The action, which began in 2020, has already resulted in savings of R$59,7 million over the last five years, with R$13,2 million corresponding to the months of January to November 2024.
The resources saved are being invested in improvements to essential supply and sanitation services.
According to the company, in addition to reducing electricity costs, the proposal is aligned with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) goals, as it prioritizes cleaner and more efficient energy sources, thus reducing the company's carbon footprint.
According to Wellington Silva, operational efficiency coordinator at Cagece's Operational Control, Development and Efficiency Management, “the financial gains generated by free energy market not only strengthen our operational efficiency, but also enable a direct positive impact on people’s lives and the environment,” he highlighted.
