A Sofa announced an important update to its inverter line: the overload capacity has been increased from 50% to 70%. This change will allow the equipment to an input power greater than its nominal power, providing greater flexibility and efficiency for s.
“For example, previously, an inverter with a nominal power of 5 kW could operate with up to 7,5 kW, due to the 50% overload. With the new 70% limit, this same equipment will be able to up to 8,5 kW, allowing the connection of more modules and optimizing performance,” he explained. Yghor Corrêa, Key Manager at Sofar in Brazil.
According to him, this improvement was possible thanks to extensive testing carried out in both China and Brazil, using 180/210mm cell s, which are the most widely used on the market. “The results confirmed that the inverters were now ready to operate at this new level, which led the company to officially adjust the specifications in the datasheet.”
The update does not affect the inverter warranty, which remains at 10 years, nor does it compromise the performance of the equipment. Sofar guarantees that the robustness and quality of the inverters remain unchanged, now offering even more possibilities of use to meet different needs and expand the offer of kits and solutions for customers.
According to Corrêa, this change represents an important step forward for the manufacturer, which is always seeking to improve the experience and adapt its products to the demands of the photovoltaic market.
Importance of change for the customer
The change in the overload limit of Sofar inverters, from 50% to 70%, is a significant update that brings numerous benefits to customers. According to the company, with this new capacity, s can maximize the use of solar energy generated without the need to purchase new equipment.
This flexibility also allows the performance of the photovoltaic system to be optimized, providing greater energy efficiency and, consequently, a better cost-benefit ratio.
