Sofar has unveiled two new solutions at Intersolar Europe 2025 aimed at commercial and industrial (C&I) s. The PowerIn platform is a flexible energy storage system (ESS) for small and medium-sized C&I solar systems, while the new PowerMagic Mini solution is targeted at alternating current (AC)-coupled C&I scenarios.

According to the manufacturer, the launches highlight the company's ongoing commitment to innovation in the clean energy sector, which is evolving rapidly worldwide. "Companies seeking to reduce energy costs, stabilize their operations and migrate to more sustainable sources face constant challenges: high complexity of system installation and integration, limited physical space, safety concerns in dense urban environments and the need for smarter use of energy," says Eduardo Fróes, Country Manager of Sofar Brazil.

“These obstacles often result in under-performing or over-designed system investments, especially for installers and developers who do not have access to flexible, high-performance solutions,” he adds.

He further noted that Sofar’s recently launched PowerIn and PowerMagic Mini are designed to directly address these challenges. “Instead of offering incremental upgrades, these two solutions reimagine the way C&I storage can be deployed — with intelligence, modularity, and a focus on security and simplicity of operation and maintenance,” he said.

According to the manufacturer, PowerIn is a highly flexible PV+ESS solution aimed at small and medium-sized commercial and industrial applications. Meanwhile, PowerMagic Mini offers an efficient, all-day, extremely safe, intelligently managed and easy-to-use solution for AC-coupled C&I scenarios.

The PowerMagic Mini is an energy storage enclosure that includes 98,3 kWh of lithium iron phosphate batteries and delivers a nominal AC output of 98 kW with a peak efficiency of 98,8%. The system also features a three-phase, four-wire power conditioner (3P4W PCS). “This is the world’s first direct liquid-cooled C&I energy storage system, ing a 1P maximum rating solution. With comprehensive battery monitoring, it is able to detect failures at an early stage,” explains Fróes.

“The PowerMagic Mini uses thermal cell insulation, early thermal runaway suppression, a three-stage fire suppression system, directional exhaust gas and top explosion ventilation to ensure complete safety of the BESS system. It operates at temperatures between -30°C and 55°C, with full functionality at all humidity levels. It s operation at altitudes up to 4.000 meters and has an IP55 protection rating.”

During the launch, Frank Yu, Executive Vice President of SOFAR, highlighted that the innovations go beyond technical improvements, “they are responses to the real needs of customers”.

Brazilian market

Sofar recently launched the Power Magic line in the Brazilian market, targeting C&I customers such as supermarkets, farms, distribution centers, small industries and other medium-sized companies. The line is already available in other markets, including Europe, where more than 500 units have been sold.

The new product, which will be officially launched in Brazil in September, is the Power Magic Mini — an extension of the Power Magic line — with power and capacity of 98 kW/98 kWh. The models in the main line, which are already available, have more robust configurations: 125 kW/215 kWh, 125 kW/258 kWh and 215 kW/344 kWh.

“Most C&I customers in Brazil currently use diesel generator set solutions to reduce their energy bills during peak hours, when energy can cost up to 3x more than the base rate, or to have backup energy solutions in regions where the concessionaire's network is of low quality,” comments Fróes.

“For example, in the poultry industry, where the business demands strict temperature control in the poultry aviary. Practically all poultry farm owners rely on diesel engines to ensure energy supply when there is a power outage in the region’s electricity grid,” he adds.

According to him, the new Power Magic Mini is expected to be available on the Brazilian market from September 2025 and aims to complement the Power Magic portfolio.
