The prices of the main inputs that make up the solar energy production chain on the international market ed significant fluctuations in March, according to data recently released by InfoLink Consulting.

The report consulting points out that the price of polysilicon – an input that represents more than half of the manufacturing cost of solar s – ed a drop of 4,76% in the period, going from US$ 21,00 to US$ 20,00 per kilo.

On the other hand, increases were identified in the production costs of N-Type wafers and N-Type TOPCon cells, with increases of 10,74% and 5,13%, respectively, last month.

Photovoltaic modules, including PERC, TOPCon and HJT (heterojunction) technologies, remained stable throughout the month, with no significant changes during the month of March.

Importance of production costs

InfoLink Consulting explains that the variation in the prices of inputs in the global photovoltaic chain has a direct impact on the solar energy sector, affecting everything from the cost of implementing systems for end consumers to the competitiveness of solar energy in the market.

Furthermore, these changes influence the purchasing, inventory and pricing strategies of companies operating in the sector, requiring constant adjustments in commercial practices.
