O The smarter E South America – which will be held at the Expo Center Norte in São Paulo between August 27th and 29th, will feature four conferences: Intersolar, ees, Eletrotec+EM-Power e Power2Drive

The events will address market development, technical and regulatory challenges and opportunities in the field of solar energy, network infrastructure, energy storage, H2V (green hydrogen) and electric mobility.

In the case of Intersolar South America, the factors that contribute to the success of photovoltaic solar energy in Brazil will be addressed, including new strategies for a transforming energy sector, distributed and centralized generation, and solutions for agribusiness.

Furthermore, it will bring opportunities for players in the renewable hydrogen, photovoltaic trends that hit the market (floating and solar + storage), supply chain, challenges of O&M (operation and maintenance), monitoring of plants and applications of artificial intelligence

According to ©Solar Promotion GmbH, organizer of the event, these topics will be covered in several presentations and will be the focus of discussions between the main experts in the sector during the three days of the event, which was created to attract an increasingly demanding and discerning audience.

ees Conference

The Brazilian electricity sector is changing as the country expands its wind and solar energy generation. At the same time, electricity consumption is expected to increase significantly in the coming years.

As hydroelectricity has been increasingly affected by droughts, new projects are being implemented to complement it. Furthermore, isolated regions in the north of the country still depend entirely on diesel or gas to generate electricity.

One solution to the many challenges of intermittent power generation is the use of batteries. According to ©Solar Promotion GmbH, if Brazil wants to take advantage of advanced battery technology, its legal, technical, educational and economic structures need to be analyzed and, in some cases, improved. These steps could directly enable the use of battery storage and electromobility.

The ees Conference will provide strategic information on opportunities related to reserve capacity, off-grid systems and ongoing commercial and industrial projects, in addition to sharing the latest news on the development of the national production chain.

“This is a unique opportunity to expand knowledge and networking in the field of energy storage and green hydrogen. Regarding the latter, Brazil's competitiveness in the emerging global H2V economy will be analyzed, as well as opportunities in the national market”, they emphasized.

Power2Drive Conference

The development of charging infrastructure for electric mobility is gaining momentum in Brazil. The government has initiated several programs to promote the adoption of EVs (electric vehicles), including subsidies for the purchase of such automobiles and tax incentives for investments in renewable energy sources to power charging stations.

Large cities, such as São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, are seeing the implementation of charging stations, driven mainly by private companies and partnerships. However, challenges such as high costs, regulatory hurdles and low public awareness still impede the rapid expansion of infrastructure.

To fully realize the potential of electric mobility in Brazil, ©Solar Promotion GmbH pointed out that a t effort involving the government, the sector and consumers is essential. Policies that encourage public and private investment, standardize charging infrastructure and promote consumer education about the benefits of EVs are crucial.

“Additionally, harnessing Brazil’s vast renewable energy resources can provide a sustainable and reliable energy source for EV charging networks. As Brazil continues to build its charging infrastructure, learning from the experiences of global leaders and adapting solutions to local conditions will be key to promoting a robust and resilient electric mobility ecosystem”, they highlighted.

The Power2Drive Conference offers an atmosphere of knowledge and advanced technology as an essential ingredient to discuss and promote advances in electric mobility and charging infrastructure, as global experts come together to analyze the latest trends and innovations in electric mobility and take advantage of a valuable network of s.

Eletrotec+EM-Power Conference

Brazil already has a privileged energy matrix, with around 50% hydroelectric energy (>100 GW), in addition to solar, wind and biomass sources. Photovoltaic energy, in particular, has been breaking records.

However, ©Solar Promotion GmbH stated that the stability of the national energy system requires non-dispatchable renewable sources and innovative solutions to deal with generation volatility. This is the macro view of the issue. But new technical requirements are also emerging in the microenvironment of distributed generation.

The Eletrotec+EM Power Conference was designed for this scenario. Maintaining the tradition of its predecessor, ENIE, the congress addresses an update of ABNT technical standards, case studies on electrical installations and an overview of energy infrastructure solutions. The program begins by anticipating trends in technical standards that are being developed or revised, such as the one that deals with energy incident on electric arcs.

Then there will be an entire day dedicated exclusively to the topic of lightning protection: isolated and non-isolated systems will be compared for their protection capabilities and remote monitoring of surge protection prevention in open areas as well as accidents with unconnected leaders.

Other installation topics will highlight, for example, BIPV modules, fatal accidents caused by electric shock in homes and the importance of installation records required by standards. The topic that will close the conference will be the practice of maintaining a large energy storage system.
