Solar energy franchise network Solarprime announced this month that electrical engineer Marcelo Nogueira will be the company's new CEO. The hiring comes at a time of expansion for the network. Raphael Brito, founder of Solarprime, explains that bringing Nogueira on as the company's CEO was part of a process that began in early 2020.
“With the arrival of the health crisis in Brazil and the resulting declines in the market, we made the decision to have more technical and independent management. We also decided to invest heavily in professionalization, creating a robust executive board in the company. This made a record recovery and a V-shaped recovery in the company’s numbers possible,” he highlighted.
“The arrival of the CEO in 2021 sealed this process, happening at a time of great changes for Solarprime, with new directions, with an eye increasingly on the future, allowing the board of directors to direct efforts and continue focusing on market strategies to bring improvements for the entire network”, he added.
According to Brito, Nogueira will lead a series of transformations and investments in the company with the aim of expanding Solarprime's presence in the solar energy market. Nogueira graduated from the Federal University of Minas Gerais and has postgraduate degrees in business from universities such as Dom Cabral, FGV and Oxford University.
The engineer worked at ABB (Asea Brown Boveri), Oi and Itaú/Unibanco. He recently worked at Via Varejo, where he was responsible for sales, expansion, store management and national operations of physical stores. Between 2019 and 2020 he was at the education multinational Cogna, leading the area of financial products and services.
Solarprime was born in os (MG) in 2014 and is now headquartered in Campinas (SP). Currently, the network has more than 360 units located in 26 states, in addition to the Federal District. The company's goal is to reach 550 units by the end of this year.
