A Sony Interactive Entertainment may be working on a promising innovation for its PlayStation 5 controller: charging Batteries by solar energy.

According to information published in a recently ed patent, the Japanese manufacturer is studying ways to incorporate photovoltaic technology into the control Dualense, allowing it to recharge with exposure to light – both solar and artificial.

The technology, if implemented, could reduce the need for cables or charging docks, offering more autonomy and convenience to PlayStation gamers.

The idea involves installing solar technology on surfaces of the controller that do not compromise gameplay, such as the back or specific areas of the touchpad.

While the patent filing does not guarantee that the product will be released, it does indicate that Sony is exploring sustainable alternatives for its accessories — something in line with trends toward energy savings and consumer convenience.
