SPIC Brasil acquires majority stake in Luiz Gonzaga Solar Complex

SPIC Brasil and Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, have completed the closing of the acquisition of SPIC Brasil’s majority stake in the Luiz Gonzaga Solar Complex.

With installed capacity of 114 MW, the complex, which has been in operation since December 2024, is located in Terra Nova (Pernambuco) and occupies an area of ​​approximately 514 hectares and has 116 thousand solar s.

The energy generated is integrated into the SIN (National Interconnected System), with part of it being sold on the regulated market and the other part on the free market. With the closing of the transaction, SPIC Brasil holds a 70% stake in the complex, while Recurrent Energy holds the remaining 30%.

“The expansion of renewable generation in Brazil is a fundamental step towards diversifying our energy matrix. The Luiz Gonzaga Solar Complex reinforces our commitment to innovation and sustainability, ensuring clean and affordable energy for thousands of Brazilians,” highlights Adriana Waltrick, CEO of SPIC Brazil.

The photovoltaic park is the third operated in partnership by the companies and s the Marangatu complex in Piauí and Panati in Ceará. Together, the three complexes have an installed capacity of 852 MW.
