A dusty announced that it is investing in OnSight Technology, based in California (USA), for the development of computer vision, AI (Artificial Intelligence) and robotics solutions in photovoltaic plants.

“With its many years of experience in the solar industry and technological know-how, OnSight aims to revolutionize O&M (operation and maintenance) in utility-scale solar farms,” highlighted Brian Mills, head of Renewable Energy at Stäubli North America.

“Combining both parties’ experience in the photovoltaic industry and specialized knowledge of OnSight technology with Stäubli’s long-lasting reputation, we will design and develop cutting-edge solutions to facilitate large-scale, on-the-ground operation and maintenance, mitigating risks and ensuring performance and safe return”, he highlighted.

Franco Delvecchio, Executive Chairman of Stäubli Electrical Connectors, emphasized that this is a strategic investment for the manufacturer and that they are excited to be involved in the development of OnSight Technology's cutting-edge solutions. “Innovation is part of Stäubli’s DNA to drive future-oriented technologies and make customers’ operations easier and safer.”

Mills further commented that solar energy is at the forefront of all renewable energy sources, with substantial annual growth of more than 20%. “It is up to interested parties to contribute to a safe and economically efficient photovoltaic ecosystem.”

“Stäubli CC connectors and BOS (Balance of System) solutions are the lifeline of any photovoltaic system. Constant, reliable and long-term power transmission ensures safe electricity supply and returns,” the executive added.

Matthias Mack, vice-president of Renewable Energy at Stäubli, pointed out that, with their experience, they feel that it is the company's responsibility to invest in the future of safer solar parks.

“We are happy to have Stäubli on board with their and know-how to drive the development of our unmanned ground robots with computer vision and AI-based analytics capabilities,” explained Derek Chase, CEO of OnSight Technology. “This partnership will expand the functionality and services of our innovative solutions.”
