A supermarket network Bahniuk, from the city of Mallet, in the interior of Paraná, will open until the beginning of August your own remote solar power plant in the municipality of Marechal Cândido Rondon (PR).
O The project will supply nine of the group's 11 stores in the South Region, in the cities of Mallet, Antônio Olinto, Inácio Martins, Paula Freitas, Paulo Frontin, União da Vitória and Palmeira.
The choice for the location, which is approximately 500 km away from Mallet, was due to the fact that the region is one of the best points in the state for solar irradiation. In Mallet, production would be 15% lower than in Marechal Cândido Rondon.
In all, the solar plant to be opened will have a monthly capacity of 150.000 kWh, equivalent to the consumption of a thousand homes. The supermarket's forecast is to recover R$7 million invested within four years.
Initially, Bahniuk's plan is to generate its own energy to reduce costs, as the company's refrigerators alone consume around 70% of all electrical energy in the stores.
However, in the long term, the group plans to increase production and start selling energy to other consumer companies on Mercado Livre.
In addition to the supermarket itself, the Bahniuk Group also manages three other companies in Brazil: a wholesale brand, a bakery company and a transport company, which together have 650 employees.
