Unicamp will have lecture cycles on the energy future

Mario Veiga, a reference in the electricity sector, will discuss the main issues regarding the future of the axis

The fourth edition of the “Cesar Lattes” Program, Resident Scientist at the Institute of Advanced Studies (IdEA) at Unicamp, will have a conference day on the energy sector that will begin on the day September 14 and will last until the day 9 November.

The event will feature a series of lectures given by Mario Veiga, electrical engineer, reference in the electrical sector in Brazil and abroad, with extensive academic, business and public sector consultancy experience.

The lecture cycle will be open, free and all you need to do is prove participation to be entitled to the certificates.

For those interested, registration is available on the Institute of Advanced Studies (IdEA) website and the journey will also be broadcast live on Youtube channel of the institution, check the programming disclosed:

  • Day 14/09 | Forecasts for energy generation in Brazil;

The central theme of this talk is a recent study for the World Bank, focused on expanding the country's generation until 2050, which will address the electrification of other sectors of the economy, the export of green hydrogen and the effect of climate change.

  • Day 05/10 | Digitalization, decentralization and decarbonization;

This lecture will focus on technological resources that leverage the three axes of the future of energy: digitalization, decentralization and decarbonization.

  • 26/10 | History of Brazil's energy sector;

This lecture takes a look back at the institutional (dis)organization of the Brazilian energy sector from 1960 to the present day.

  • Day 09/11 | Science and Energy;

In this final lecture, we will reflect on the importance of coordinated action between universities, research centers, government agencies, private companies and society organizations to seek a path of rationality for the country.
