The financial volume of CBIOs (Decarbonization Credits) sured the R$8 billion in Brazil. The figure was reached within the RenovaBio (National Biofuels Policy).

O SCHEDULE, established in 2017 through the Law No. 13.576, Has as objective to promote expansion of production and marketing of biofuels na energy matrix nationally in order to mitigate emissions of greenhouse gases.

One CBIO is equivalent to one ton of greenhouse gases not emitted into the atmosphere due to the use of biofuel to replace fossil fuels. The average value of each CBIO was R$111,63.

In all, more than 102,8 million credits have already been issued across the country, which means that 102,8 million tons of CO2 were no longer emitted into the atmosphere through the program.

CBIOs are environmental assets issued by biofuel producers in an amount proportional to the efficiency rating of their certified production and the volume of biofuel sold.

Such credits are currently traded by biofuel producers on the Brazilian stock exchange and acquired by distributors to meet their individual goals, or even by non-obligated third parties interested in acquiring CBIOs.
