A town hall from Votuporanga (SP) is arguing about a bill seeking the granting of tax benefits for owners of Real Estate which contains equipment of generation of solar energy in the municipality.

The City Hall may grant discount de 10% No. IPTU (Urban Property and Land Tax) for residential properties, 15% to commercial properties e 20% for real estate industrial if the proposal is approved. The discount will only be applied to annual payments e in cash of the tax.

Councilor Serginho da Farmácia, author of the proposal, commented on the growth of solar energy generating units in the municipality of Votuporanga.
“Granting tax benefits to owners who choose to install photovoltaic energy generation systems not only reduces the tax burden, but also promotes the adoption of sustainable practices, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact and the development of a city,” he said.
The councilor also highlighted that the proposal aims to benefit good payers in addition to encouraging new sources of renewable energy.
“The project aims not only to encourage the use of renewable energy in the municipality of Votuporanga, but also to grant tax benefits to good payers, taxpayers who choose to pay the aforementioned tax in full, thus avoiding future bills that grant REFIS (exemptions from fines) of an electoral nature and so criticized by good payers, that is, those who pay the tax in full,” he concluded.
According to the bill, the Municipal Executive will regulate, within 60 days, this Law, defining the istrative procedures for requesting and granting tax benefits.
