Watt Capitaland G2A Consultantsannounced the celebration of a strategic partnershipfocused on offering the electricity sector technical, economic and regulatory feasibility analysis services for projects renewable sources with the integration of battery energy storage systems

The services are aimed at projects connected to SIN (National Interconnected System) covering both applications behind the meter as front of the meter.

According to the two companies, the target audience includes project developers, investors and equipment suppliers looking to enable innovative business models in the renewable energy sector.

"The projects with BESSpresent a wide range of possible applications and offer innovative solutions for the Brazilian electricity sector. These systems are essential to mitigate problems such as curtailment, in addition to providing ancillary services that are essential for the stability of the electrical grid”, highlighted Mariana Galhardo, partner at G2A.

Congress will discuss cases with batteries and financing for solar projects

“They also enable price arbitrage in hourly price shift scenarios, optimizing economic and operational efficiency. In Brazil, these projects are promising, both to optimize distributed generation, as for the centralized generation, offering collateral to renewable sources in capacity reserve auctions. The implementation of BESS can provide greater flexibility and reduced operating costs to the SIN”, added.

“The analysis of the economic viability of projects is fundamental and must be carried out diligently to consider all the particularities and possibilities of these projects, whose business model, regulation and financing sources are still maturing,” emphasized. Eduardo Tobias, managing partner of Watt Capital.
