A WEG, a global electronics equipment company, announced this Tuesday (26) the g of the acquisition contract for REIVAX SA, a Brazilian company specializing in power generation control solutions and its subsidiaries.

According to the company, the acquisition is part of the company's growth strategy for control systems businesses in the hydroelectric, photovoltaic, wind and cogeneration markets.

A REIVAX is a Brazilian company that operates in the sector of control systems for energy generation, operating in the hydroelectric, photovoltaic, wind, thermoelectric, substation and industrial segments.

The company operates at three levels in the power generation chain: supplying turbine and generator manufacturers with its digital voltage and speed controller systems; serving power generation companies in the integration of this equipment, ensuring optimized integration and a complete control system and for regulatory bodies, such as the ONS in Brazil.

The company operates in the global market, present in Latin America, North America, Europe and Asia, with headquarters in Florianópolis (SC) and branches in Switzerland and Canada.

In 2023, REIVAX reported net operating revenue of R$131 million, with an EBITDA margin (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) of 22,6%, with more than half of this revenue coming from sales made outside Brazil.

For Carlos José Bastos Grillo, WEG’s Digital & Systems Director, the acquisition will allow us to expand our solutions portfolio, integrate new technologies and improve our customers’ operational efficiency. “The search for efficiency and reliability in the energy industry and the focus on sustainability are global trends that align with our vision and growth objectives,” he said.

“This acquisition represents an expansion of our offering in power generation and transmission, improving the reliability and resilience of the grid that needs to evolve with renewable energy, including the use of adjacent solutions for battery energy storage systems (BESS) and synchronous compensators,” concluded Grillo.
