What is the profile of the integrating companies?

A greener led a new market research with integrating companies from July 1st to 31st, 2023, obtaining a total of 2.492 responses of companies from all regions of the country.

According to the study, these companies vary in size and time in operation, providing a wide diversity of the photovoltaic integration market.

Regarding size, 51% of companies are micro-enterprises, that is, they earn up to R$360 thousand per year, an average of two systems sold per month considering the residential size of 4 kWp.

Next comes individual microentrepreneurs (27%), small companies (16%), medium-sized companies (6%) and large companies (0,6%).

The report also indicated that 54% of integrating companies are made up of up to four employees and that 3,5% of the companies participating in the survey are part of a franchise.

Budgets and systems sold

Regarding budgets, there was a 24% drop in the monthly average in the first half of 2023, which was 32, while in the same period of 2022 the monthly average was 42, indicating a reduction in demand for photovoltaic systems by the end customer.

Regarding the number of systems sold, there was a 60% drop in the 1st half of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. Furthermore, there was a decrease from 57% to 32% of companies that sold more than 10 systems per month, indicating a slowdown of sales in the period

Greener reported that the average sales conversion rate in the 1st half of 2023 was 7%, a drop of 6 pp compared to 13% in the first six months of 2022. The average sales per company in the 1st half of this year was approximately two per month, compared to five monthly sales in the same period last year.

Sales volume

According to the study, 60% of integrators expected to sell an accumulated volume above 100 kWp in 2023. For now, in the first half of the year, 27% of integrators reached this mark.

In total, 13% of integrators reported that they did not sell any solar photovoltaic systems during the 1st half of 2023.

Details about the survey

Start of activities of companies that responded to the survey:

  • 2018 or before: 24%;
  • 2019: 16%;
  • 2020: 16%;
  • 2021: 19%;
  • 2022: 19%;
  • 2023: 6%.

The percentage values ​​represent the distribution of the start of activities of the integrating companies that participated in the survey in July 2023. For example, the 6% referring to 2023 reflects the integrators that started their activities in the solar sector in the first half of the same year.

Of the integrator companies that responded to the survey, 56% have been operating in the market for more than three years, having gained experience both before and after the implementation of Law No. 14.300/2022.

The population of integrating companies is estimated based on crossing data from the survey carried out by Greener with information provided by entities and companies in the sector. In total, there are 26.640 active photovoltaic integrators.
